At Delicate Health & Care, we are led by an experienced consultant psychiatrist and have a highly trained staff who specialize in supporting and caring for young people with a range of mental health support needs. We adopt a recovery-focused and person-centered approach, particularly for those with complex mental health needs, including substance misuse history and involvement in the criminal justice system. We provide care and support for various difficulties, including schizophrenia, bipolar affective disorder, severe depression, severe anxiety, drug-induced psychosis, challenging behaviour, emotional dysregulation, self-harming, suicidal tendencies, trauma, abuse, neglect, eating disorders, ADHD, sexually harmful behaviour, and attachment difficulties.
Our mission is to deliver a range of care and support to children and young people with learning disabilities and/or physical disabilities, aiming to promote their independence and connection with their local communities. Led by an experienced consultant psychiatrist and supported by highly trained staff, we specialize in providing support for young people with complex and challenging needs. We offer assistance to individuals with diagnoses such as autism and Asperger's syndrome, Down's syndrome, dementia, communication support needs, sensory and physical support needs (e.g., mobility support needs), and those dealing with drugs and alcohol abuse. Additionally, we provide support for individuals with dual diagnosis, which refers to those with learning disabilities who also have additional mental illness or behavioural difficulties.
Our approach focuses on empowering the young people we support to develop the skills necessary to live safely and independently. We prioritize their active involvement in decision-making processes, allowing them to have a say in how they want to live their lives. Through personalized support plans and individualized care, we strive to enhance their independence, self-determination, and overall well-being.
By combining our expertise in mental health and learning disability support, we provide a comprehensive and tailored approach to meet the unique needs of each individual. Our dedicated team is committed to enabling young people to lead fulfilling lives, fostering their independence, and promoting their integration into their local communities. To ensure the highest quality of service, we have implemented a comprehensive quality assurance system. This system includes the use of databases to record and monitor performance, review effectiveness, and evaluate organizational objectives, goals, and targets. Based on the findings, we develop action plans aimed at fostering positive change and improving the quality and performance of our services in collaboration with our service users.
We adhere to national regulations and partnership expectations by conducting staff supervision and appraisals in line with training targets. These evaluations help monitor and support the professional development of our staff members. In the event of complaints, we have established procedures to address them promptly and effectively. Our complaints procedures ensure that all complaints are logged, presented to the service manager, and responded to within 7 working days. If a complaint requires involvement from partnering agencies, we communicate the process to the complainant and provide ongoing updates. We actively encourage service users to provide feedback both formally and informally on a regular basis. This feedback allows us to continually improve our services and enhances the experiences of young people in our care. It also provides an opportunity for young people to develop important life skills such as negotiation and planning. To maintain and develop the quality of our service, we actively seek feedback from referring agencies, commissioning teams, and partnering professionals. This feedback helps us measure and continually improve the quality of the services we provide.0795 869 3777
