Community support for young people's mental health

SERVICE MODEL

Delicate Health & Care is an independent healthcare provider specialising in delivering residential accommodation, personalized therapeutic care, and rehabilitation to children and young people aged between 12 and 18 years.
Our service was established by a consultant psychiatrist and a registered mental health nurse with several years work experience in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. We aim to empower our clients to lead fulfilling lives by providing them with the support, guidance, and care they need to overcome their challenges.
We provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions through RAID (Reinforce Appropriate, Implode Disruptive) and PBS (Positive Behaviour Support) courses, and psychotropic medication management. Additionally, we offer in-house education to help our clients achieve their academic goals. Our rehabilitation services and support facilitate social and familial integration, and we prioritize robust risk assessments and management with safeguarding measures in place to ensure the highest level of care.
At Delicate Health & Care, we offer a flexible approach to address the varying needs of young people. We provide services to those who are “Looked after” and subject to voluntary, Interim and Full Care Orders, as well as those with bail/remand conditions or Detention and Training Orders who require accommodation upon their release. We offer a supported and safe environment for those remanded into the care of the Local Authority and for those who seek an alternative to secure accommodation.
Our placements can be tailored to meet the identified care needs for as long as required.
Our experienced and highly trained staff team includes registered mental health nurses, general nurses, and support workers who work collaboratively with other professionals under the leadership of our consultant psychiatrist. We are committed to providing our clients with a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where they feel valued, respected, and empowered.
Maintaining productive relationships with Social Services, NHS Health Services, Youth Offending Services, DWP, Metropolitan Police, Education bodies, and various Education Training and Employment providers is a priority for us as we fulfil statutory service level agreements.
We have the capacity to support young people with challenging behaviour and conduct risk assessments prior to admission and throughout their stay to ensure effective management of individual needs and compliance with safeguarding requirements. We also consider bespoke packages for complex care provision.
Delicate Health & Care recognizes the complexity of issues surrounding anti-social culture, criminality, sexual exploitation, and gang affiliation, which often underpins violent conflict among young people. We strive to provide a safe and constructive environment for young people experiencing such issues, aiming to steer them towards pro-social activities and networks.
Our vision is to be the leading provider of supported living accommodation and rehabilitation for children and young people in the UK. We aim to be recognized as a centre of excellence in the provision of therapeutic intervention and support, guided by the Children’s Act and the principles of Every Child Matters. We believe that every young person has the potential to thrive, and we are dedicated to helping them achieve their goals and aspirations for a brighter future.
Our services include short to long-term interventions leading to rehabilitation to the family home or foster care with continued support. We also offer longer-term stays for those where a return home is not a viable option.
